GITEX Hyderabad 2002, a joint initiative of the Dubai World Trade Center (DWTC) and the Government of Andhra Pradesh, will be inaugurated in Hyderabad on January 7, 2002. Several leading national and international organizations have confirmed their participation in the three-day event to be held at Taj Krishna and Taj Banjara, Hyderabad.
GITEX Hyderabad provides a structured B2B platform and highlighting the emerging opportunities in IT enabled services, e-governance, IT infrastructure and it would also showcase the latest in technology. The participants represent various segments of the IT industry from hardware to software, infrastructure, support services, networking and telecommunications.
In the recent years, Andhra Pradesh in general and Hyderabad in particular has emerged as favored destination for the global IT industry, where 23 percent of Indian IT professionals in the US originate.
“Given that this is the first GITEX event to be held in India and the fact that the IT industry has been impacted by the global slowdown, the response to the event has been encouraging,” said Vijay Menon, International Project Manager-Exhibition Sales, DWTC.
DWTC is the leading exhibition organizer in the Middle East. GITEX Dubai, the flagship show of the DWTC is the largest event of its kind in the Middle East. DWTC took GITEX to the regional markets in 1999. In addition to GITEX Dubai, there are GITEX exhibitions in Cairo, Egypt and Beirut, Lebanon.
