Several train stations are to be built in the city of Giza and the Sixth of October City, within the framework of a plan to connect the two cities by a train route.
According to reports in Cairo’s Al-Ahram daily, the project’s construction is expected to begin in July as part of the 150th anniversary of the Egyptian railway system, which currently runs 5,000 kilometer of track, 42 kilometer of which are electrified.
Egypt’s railway system, although considered relatively reliable and convenient with connections in almost every major city and town, is however in need of modernization. — (MENA Report)
