The Saudi Mohammed Abdullah Sharbatly Corporation has awarded Orient Shipping and Contracting Greece a contract to transport their citrus cargo from Egypt to Saudi Arabia.
General Manager of Orient Shipping and Contracting Greece Sami Moujaes estimates that Sharbatly’s Egyptian citrus cargo will be close to 30,000 tons and will be transported mainly between Port Suez and Port Jeddah by refrigerated vessels between December 2003 and May 2004.
Orient Shipping has been in operation since 1956 as a Middle East reefer transporter. Moujaes also said that the freight for reefer cargo is improving. "We note an increase of about 10 percent on the freight compared with the same period last October. This follows the trend of the general freights improvement that makes us more optimistic." — (menareport.com)
