Mr. Ghazi Shatnawi, Acting Director General of the Land and Survey Department, the government agency responsible for management and control of land ownership in Jordan, said that 2,782 donoms, valued JD 67 million, were sold to non-Jordanian investors in the first five months of 2006. This figure translates into a 51% rise compared with the same period last year.
According to Shatnawi, JD 15 billion worth of investments are expected to be pumped into the local real estate and construction sector in the kingdom in the upcoming five years.
