Israel’s Guardium, a start up software company focusing on security solutions for databases used in distributed and Internet environments has raised four million dollars to complete its first round of venture capital funding.
The successful round for the Massachusetts-based firm was led by Cedar Fund jointly with Veritas Venture Partners and Stage One Ventures. Guardium is focused on providing software security solutions that enable corporations to safely extend their database applications to workers offsite as well as to clients and partners connected via the Internet.
The company's solution is based on a core technology developed in Israel. As companies and businesses increasingly allow applications to remotely access corporate databases, the risks and threats to database integrity and security increase. Guardium's solutions, currently undergoing initial acceptance processes with corporate customers, provide an active, transparent layer of protection for these assets.
