A delegation headed by Chairman and Managing Director of Iran Air, Dazood Keshazarzian met with President and Chief Executive of Gulf Air James Hogan at Gulf Air headquarters in Bahrain last week to explore areas of co-operation and synergies that will benefit both airlines.

Discussions centered on areas of co-operation, including the network, cargo operations, sharing infrastructure, expansion of code sharing, and other opportunities to promote economic development.

"At this challenging time for the airline industry, it is important to explore new ways to work together to remove obstacles and create economies of scale," said James Hogan, commenting on the discussions. "Partnerships and co-operation hold the potential to make our industry more efficient in meeting the requirements of the market and serving our customers better."

In closing, the parties reiterated their intention to continue discussions in pursuing cooperation and shared goals and the development of the region. Further meetings are to be scheduled for later in the year. — (menareport.com)
