Gulf Air has reported a rise of 33 percent in cargo tonnage on its services from Europe between January - May 2003 compared to the same period last year.
Broken down by markets, cargo tonnage to the Gulf from London-Heathrow has increased by 51.9 percent, from Frankfurt-Main by 31.7 percent and Paris-Charles de Gaulle by 21.9 percent.
Gulf Air offers daily services from Paris and Frankfurt to the Gulf, and 27 services per week from London using Airbus A330-200 aircraft. Cargo carrying capacity from Frankfurt will increase by 25 percent from July 1 with the introduction of a larger Airbus A340-300.
Gulf Air's Falcon Express time-sensitive cargo handling service is currently being rolled out across Europe. The service offers two tiers, Alpha and Beta. Alpha Falcon Express guarantees a 100 percent refund and free carriage if a shipment is delayed more than 12 hours and, for shorter delays, the time definite surcharge will be refunded. Beta Falcon Express guarantees to refund the product surcharge for delays of more than 12 hours.
