Gulf Air recorded a 3.3 percent higher seat load factor, reaching 73.3 percent in the first quarter of 2002. These results are the highest quarterly figures recorded by the airline, reported IRNA news agency.
The air carrier transported 65,560 passengers in the first three months of 2002 compared to 47,101 during the same period last year, a 39 percent increase. Weekly departures from Abu Dhabi increased by 51 percent to 213 take offs and by 12 percent from Bahrain, reaching 234 take offs. Beirut flights have gone from six flights per week to double daily from the Gulf.
