The Government of Cyprus has warned Gulf investors regarding to purchase of property in the northern part of the island (the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus), saying they must ascertain legal aspects before such deals are entered into.
The Ambassador to the Embassy of the Republic of Cyprus in Qatar conveyed in his statement that "there has been an increase in the sale of immovable property belonging to Greek Cypriots and a lot of foreigners are being lured with promises of a place in the sun at affordable prices without knowledge of the legal complications."
