Global intelligent transport systems specialist, 3M will launch into the Middle East a groundbreaking priority control system enabling emergency vehicles to request and receive green lights on their way to an incident or accident.
“The 3M Opticom Priority Control System is a time-critical travel system designed to save lives by accelerating the rescue services' response to life-threatening situations,” said Sales and Marketing Manager of Traffic, Graphics and Safety 3M Gulf Limited, Samir Tabbara. “Studies show that most road accident related deaths result from delayed medical response, which can now be radically improved.”
The product will be launched at Gulf Traffic, the region's major vertical conference and exhibition (Confex) for the traffic and transport industry. 3M is amongst 10 international ITS specialists to participate at the exhibition, to be held at Dubai's Crowne Plaza Hotel from October 26 – 28.
3M will also launch Canoga, a vehicle detection system, used to trace individual vehicles or traffic characteristics by utilizing inductive loop detectors, interface and data acquisition software. 3M's Dynamic Message Systems, efficiently conveying real-time reports on traffic conditions, will also be showcased.
Gulf Traffic 2002 has embarked on a visitor marketing campaign targeting Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), Lebanon, Jordan, Syria, Yemen, Iran as well as India and Pakistan. Government departments encompassing traffic police, transport and public works ministries will be the focus of the campaign, which will also include urban planners, network developers, component suppliers and specifiers. — (menareport.com)
