Iranian security forces seized 467 kilos of morphine hidden in a truck in the central-east province of Kerman, the IRNA news agency reported Wednesday.
The head of the security forces in the area, Mohammad-Reza Tamandi, said the truck carrying the drugs was loaded in the province of Sistan-Baluchestan, on the border with Afghanistan.
Tamandi said another truck carrying morphine and opium came under attack from by the police Tuesday but was torched by traffickers, who then fled. — (AFP, Tehran)
