The Heritage Oil Corporation has commenced drilling the Tibat-1 well in Oman. Earlier this month the Tibat-1 well encountered some drilling problems having entered one of two of the primary reservoir targets, the Middle Cretaceous Mauddud objective. The well has been successfully sidetracked and has re-entered Mauddud structure, 7" casing has been successfully run and cemented.

Forward operations over the next few days will include drilling, logging and possibly coring through the reservoir sections. Heritage anticipates that it will be able to confirm the results of the well upon completion of this program and prior to making a decision about testing the well.

Heritage holds a 10 percent working interest in both Oman’s Block 8, in which it holds an interest in the producing Bukha gas/condensate field and in the adjoining Block 17 licences, through its wholly owned subsidiary Eagle Energy Oman. Its partners in the Tibat-1 well are operator Novus Petroleum Limited, LG International and Atlantis Holdings Norway.
