Hertz, the world's leader in car rentals, has strategically expanded its fleet of four-wheel-drive vehicles (4WD) in Jordan, in a move to capture and service the expected summer tourism rush to the Kingdom.

Already boasting the largest supply of off-road rental vehicles in the Kingdom, the Rental Car giant added an array of year 2000 model Mitsubishi Pajeros, Suzuki Grand Vitaras, and Nissan Terranos - expanding the types of off-road vehicle rental offerings to 32.

Najati Shakshir, Company General Manager of Shakshir Rental Car, the Hertz international franchisee in Jordan, announced, "We have again expanded our 4WD fleet in order to meet the high demand in the Jordan market."

"In addition to the local population, we're experiencing an increasing demand for 4WD and other vehicles from tourists, who are expected to be arriving in increasing numbers, particularly during the summer, as a result of the strong effort by the authorities here to promote Jordan," Shakshir added.

In the coming months, 3 new Hertz branches will open in the Kingdom, raising the total domestic locations to 8, Middle East Business Information reported. The new branches will be located at the Dana Plaza Hotel, the new Movenpick Hotel Aqaba, and the Grand Hyatt Hotel, and will complement the existing locations in Amman, Petra, the Dead Sea and Aqaba.

With the new locations, the Hertz Middle East network will consist of 39 locations in 11 countries. Hertz is represented in over 140 nations running a total worldwide fleet of 525,000 vehicles.
