According to Al-Sharq Al-Awsat newspaper, some symptoms of a housing shortage have recently appeared in the Saudi capital city, Riyadh, because of the local population growth.
Forecasts estimate this shortage to worsen in the next five years particularly since 50% of the city's population is under 20 and does have its own houses.
