The Islamic Development Bank (IDB) has outlined its agenda and participation at this year’s Organization of Islamic Conferences (OIC) Summit and side events. The details of its agenda include its continued commitment to help the people of the Islamic world in the areas of economic development and social progress.
IDB also urged immediate action and support for the people of Palestine to aid in its reconstruction. The OIC Summit will be held at Putra Jaya, Malaysia, from October 11-18, 2003, with surrounding activities taking place at various locations.
IDB is a major funder of the OIC countries with a total cumulative financial commitment of $28 billion. IDB works in cooperation with its member countries to alleviate poverty, promote intra-trade, develop joint venture infrastructure projects, provide technical co-operation and promote Islamic Banking. — (menareport.com)
