India will press for cheaper oil for developing countries at a three-day global conference of petroleum ministers in Saudi Arabia, Petroleum Minister Ram Naik said Tuesday.
"We will reiterate our earlier demand for a special oil price slab for developing countries," the Press Trust of India quoted Naik as saying. The conference begins on Friday.
India imports almost 70 percent of its oil requirements and was badly hit by the steep rise in the price of international crude this year. –AFP.
