Info2cell.com, the leading Wireless Applications Service Provider (WASP) in the Middle East and North Africa, has expanded its SMS news services for the UAE subscribers with the introduction of nine new channels, besides the already existing SMS Breaking News Channel. The new channels were introduced as part of ambitious new plans to triple the existing subscriber base of Info2cell.com from 30,000 to 100,000 in the UAE by May 2005.
The list of new channels includes SMS Jokes; SMS Entertainment Headlines; SMS Horoscopes, SMS Dubai Time Out; SMS Abu Dhabi Time Out; SMS Women; SMS Sports Headlines; SMS News Headlines; SMS Business and Finance Headlines. The SMS Women channel has sections on Fashion, Beauty and Health. The new channels, available in English and Arabic, are already open for subscription in the UAE by calling 8004480.
"Info2cell.com has always been a pioneer in introducing innovative services to its mobile phone subscribers. When we introduced the SMS Breaking News service in the region, it was an instant hit, because it brought news to the subscriber much faster than any other media source," said Bashar Dahabra, Founder and General Manager of Info2cell.com.
"The Telecommunications sector in the GCC region, especially in the UAE is evolving rapidly, both in terms of technology and market structure. The recent move of the UAE government announcing the deregulation of the sector will hot-up the competition amongst service providers to capture
a share of the subscriber base," explained Dahabra. (menareport.com)
