Integrated Visions Group (IVG) will make an impact at Gitex 2002 as it unveils its evolution into one of the region’s largest information and communications technology (ICT) prime contractors in the Middle East, according to a company press release. This is the first time that the company has appeared at Gitex and its debut.

In 2000, IVG became the first authorized ASP in Saudi Arabia, since which time it has grown to become a regional ICT contractor. The company is also a provider of industry-specific e-business solutions for the financial services, retail and cross-industry sectors.

At Gitex 2002, IVG will show how its new role as prime contractor for ICT projects will be put at the service of the region’s businesses. In turn, this allows IVG’s customers to utilize ICT to compete effectively in the international arena, says Mohammad Al-Shammary, managing director of e-Commerce at IVG.

“Becoming electronically enabled is a must for today’s businesses especially with then increasing emphasis on customer care,” he commented. “The e-business revolution is starting to transform every business process as companies seek efficient web-enabled management systems.”

At its launch two years ago, Jeddah-headquartered IVG created strategic partnerships with international technology leaders such as Microsoft, Oracle, Cisco, SUN Microsystems, HP and Equant. During last year, the company invested in leveraging the collaboration of solutions providers in the region, including CAP, Alpha, CompuSoft, ESG, Technic, Arabic TextWare, Data Consult and e-Global. These solutions providers will work with IVG foundation companies: e-Commerce Company, Integrated Visions and A2A.

These IVG companies then act in the role of prime contractor for customers. This involves them in managing all aspects of an information and communications technology project, ranging from concept stage, right through to solution implementation, integration and training.

“In co-operation with our partners we provide products and services that help companies and organisations excel by allowing them to focus on their core businesses - leaving the clerical, statistical and management means and tools to be managed by the prime contractor,” said Al-Shammary.

“The IVG approach means that businesses can re-engineer while, at the same time, giving all their attention to profit-making activities. IVG will handle everything they need in the area of ICT from A to Z.”

“Many companies in the region have held back on entering the e-age, due to concerns over infrastructure and human resources issues,” he added. “IVG companies have been an integral part of the local business community for years and have completed thousands of implementations. We understand Arabisation and regional customisation.

“IVG was formed to tap into the combined resources, experience and expertise of its partner companies to tackle the many ICT challenges facing businesses in the region. It’s not easy for any company to make the changes required to successfully undertake e-commerce,” explained Al-Shammery. “Putting up a web site doesn’t make a company e-enabled. — (menareport.com)
