The InterContinental Resort Al-Ain recorded a 29 percent increase in total revenues over last year, which is the highest profit recorded since the hotel opened its doors 21 years ago, stated a press release.

“The InterContinental Resort Al-Ain has had a record increase of 31 percent in room nights as compared to 2001”, said General Manager of the resort, Antoine Berberi.

In late 2002, the Hotel InterContinental Al-Ain changed its positioning to a Resort and was renamed the InterContinental Resort Al-Ain. In line with this strategy, the NCTH funded the development of 22 modern villas at the Resort, which are targeted to attract local and regional families seeking a secluded stay for their vacation. This four million dollar project was undertaken to capture a highly profitable segment of the tourism market and is expected to yield high returns in the near future.

UK-based Six Continents Hotels owns, operates or franchises more than 3,200 hotels and over 500,000 guest rooms in close to 100 countries and territories. Six Continents Hotels was formerly known as Bass Hotels & Resorts. — (menareport.com)
