Bahrain’s Investcorp has purchased MW Manufacturers (MW) from Fenway Partners, a private equity investment firm, for approximately $188 million. The transaction included the equity participation of MW's management as well as certain international investors organized by Investcorp.
MW is a manufacturer and distributor of windows and patio door products in the United States. In fiscal 2002, the company had revenues of approximately $214 million. A fund managed by Fenway controlled approximately 81 percent of MW.
Investcorp is a global investment group with offices in Bahrain, New York and London. The firm has four lines of business: corporate investment, real estate investment, asset management and technology investment. It was established in 1982 and has since completed transactions with an aggregate value of approximately $20 billion.
In the United States, Investcorp and its clients currently own corporate investments that include Neptune Technology Group, Jostens, Aero Products International, Harborside Healthcare and SI Corporation.
