ALBAWABA - Just about a month after the release of Apple's iPhone 17 series, buyers have reported a scratch resistance issue, according to a report by Bloomberg.

Apple released the new iPhone 17 series, along with other devices and smartwatches, during the Apple Event, held on September 9 at Apple Park in Cupertino, California.

iPhone 17's unexpected issue:

The iPhone 17 devices on display at Apple Stores showed visible scratches and marks after just a few hours of use, particularly the "Deep Blue" iPhone 17 Pro and "Space Black" iPhone Air.

Videos were shared on social media showing images of the back glass being affected when using the MagSafe charger, along with slight peeling around the edges of near camera.

In addition, tech content creator Zach Nelson also conducted a scratch test using blades, keys, and coins.

Experts attributed this weakness to Apple's decision to return to using aluminum instead of the titanium used in the iPhone 16 Pro, as aluminum is known to be more susceptible to scratches.
