The Iranian province of Yazd exported 14 billion rials ($8.1 million) worth of non-oil commodities in the last three months of the nation’s calendar year, equivalent to 125,423 kilograms of merchandise, reported the region’s Standard and Industrial Research Department. The Iranian New Year began on March 21.
The commodities included pistachios, dates, grease, paraffin and scarf. The merchandise was shipped to Pakistan, Ukraine, Morocco, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates (UAE), Canada, Japan and the Czech Republic.
Yazd is one of Iran's industrial centers for textiles. There is a considerable ceramics and construction materials industry and a unique confectionaries and jewelry industry. There are a number of other industries that are employing a notable portion of the population including agriculture, dairy, animal products, metal works and machine manufacturing. — (menareport.com)
