Iran's auto production on the rise

Iran's auto production increased by 54 percent to 55,628 sedans during the first Iranian month of Farvardin (March 21-April 20), according to the Machine Building Industries Department at Ministry of Industries and Mines.

 

The department stated in a report on Tuesday that 50,000 cars, 3,114 vans, 1,848 trucks, 99 buses and 23 minibuses were produced during the said month.

 

In the month under study, Pride cars (13,837 sedans) topped the list of products, followed by Paykan (11,529 sedans), injector-type Peugeot 405 (6,987 sedans), Peugeot 206 (4,936 sedans) and Samand (4,689 sedans).

 

According to IRNA, 148 percent growth was observed in production of trucks, 82 percent in vans, 92 percent in minibuses and 53 percent in cars during the month of Farvardin.
