Iraq electricity output up

Ayham Alsamerae, the Iraqi electricity minister, affirmed that his ministry succeeded to increase the electricity capacity to 5000 Megawatts. He said that the ministry plans to make electricity available for 18 hours daily by providing additional 1,500 Megawatts in the next few days.

 

In an interview with <i>Albayan</i> newspaper, Alsamerae disclosed that his ministry plans to reach  a capacity of 1,5000 Megawatts ( average 3000 Megawatts a year) in order to provide electricity to all Iraqis without any problem. According to him, US$1 billion are needed to accomplish this goal.
