London-based LogicaCMG has been chosen to provide an all-IP Next Generation Messaging solution, which includes a Short Messaging Service Centre, to Atheer Telecommunications in southern Iraq.
LogicaCMG now supplies Next Generation Messaging to two of the three GSM service providers in Iraq. Under the terms of the agreement, Atheer Telecommunications will deploy LogicaCMG's Next Generation Messaging infrastructure, starting with SMS, as it launches its GSM services to its corporate and individual customers.
LogicaCMG won the contract after intensive work with MTC Kuwait. Atheer Telecommunications, part of the MTC group of companies is a consortium of MTC and DTC.
LogicaCMG provides management and IT consultancy, systems integration and outsourcing services to clients in telecoms, financial services, energy and utilities, industry, distribution and transport and the public sector.
Formed in 2002, through the merger of Logica and CMG, the company employs around 21,000 staff internationally and is headquartered in Europe. — (menareport.com)
