The Monetary Institute of Bahrain announced on Sunday the establishment of an international center that would focus on of Islamic financial sciences and offer training and research services in the field.
The center is expected to open next month, according to Rashid Al Ma'raj, Governor of the Monetary Institute.
Al Ma'raj revealed that the new center was established with funding from an endowment fund as well as donations from local and international Islamic financial institutes, according to KUNA.
Khalil Noruddine, Director of Bahrain Institute of Banking and Finance, noted that the center will provide specialized programs and diploma certificates in Islamic financial sciences.
Noruddine also stated that students at the center would focus on research in practical and applied fields of Islamic monetary practices. He added that one of the goals of the center would be to develop new products improve services provided by Islamic banks.
