Italy’s Energia Global International (EGI) has awarded engineering, procurement and construction contracts to Israeli contractor Solel Boneh and US-based GE Hydro for its El Canada hydroelectric power plant in western Guatemala.
Total investment in the project is $60 million, and the plant is scheduled to begin operations in November 2003. The International Finance Corporation (IFC) and two partners will provide a total of $37 million financing for construction of the 43 megawatt El Canada hydroelectric power plant. — (menareport.com)
