Itqan completes second phase of Al-Jazeira Hospital project

System integrator Itqan Al-Bawardi recently completed the second phase of the hospital information system project at Al-Jazeira Hospital, one of the largest hospitals in United Arab Emirates (UAE), and main referral hospital for other hospitals and primary healthcare centers in Abu Dhabi. 

 

Previously Itqan completed the first phase of the project covering the administrative tasks of Master Patient Index and Outpatient Management. The second phase aimed to increase productivity, efficiency, effectiveness and managing operations through the provision of accurate and timely information through information resources and services.  

 

It incorporated key clinical functionalities namely unification of patient identification number, electronic patient records, laboratory results routing between the various laboratories in the hospital and the in-patient wards and the outpatient clinics.  

 

The system, based on Medicom HIS, caters for information from over 200,000 registered patient files, with an average of 75 daily new patients, 315 daily appointments, 465 out-patient visits, 350 out-patient prescriptions, 170 in-patients, 20 daily admissions, 55 in-patient prescriptions. The laboratories generate an average of 322 daily registered specimens from the various departments.
