The new office is part of NYK’s strategy plan to expand its global logistics business.
Based in Dubai, at the Jebel Ali Free Zone, the company offers end-to-end supply chain solutions including international freight forwarding, warehousing and distribution, as well as value-added services such as packaging, co-packing and banding.
“With our global network and international transportation experience, combined with the local expertise, we will offer the highest standards of service and safety to our customers,” said Taizo Akabane, director and general manager of NYK Logistics Group. Outsourcing logistics services enables the companies to use their working capital more efficiently in terms of reducing inventory and facility investment as well as shorten delivery lead times.
“We are excited to enter the United Arab Emirates (UAE) market with this new venture and gladly take up the challenge of meeting customers’ logistical needs which are becoming more complicated as the business process of sourcing, manufacturing and marketing extends to a global context, ” added Akabane.
The company’s range of logistics services is aimed at serving the unique supply chain needs of multinational Japanese companies in the consumer electronics and automotive spare parts industries in the UAE.
