The newly approved general budget for 2002 consists of a 435 million Jordanian Dinar ($613 million) projected deficit, which is equivalent to 6.5 percent of the GDP, reported Al-Sharq Al-Awsat . The Jordanian Minister of Treasury, Michel Marto stated that Jordan is expected to receive JD 237 million ($334.5 million) worth of international aid in 2002.
