ALBAWABA - Jordan will be witnessing the establishment of the country's first international racing track that could be used for major car racing competitions.

Engicon, in partnership with the Aqaba Development Corporation, announced the commencement of work on the Aqaba International Circuit, the largest project of its kind in Jordan and the region.

The track will cover an area of over one million square meters and include a 3.6 km track with FIA Grade 3 specifications, a 1.5 km karting track for training and small tournaments, in addition to green areas and comprehensive services, from parking to team and spectator facilities.

This project puts Aqaba on the international motor racing map and is expected to contribute to enhancing sports tourism and attracting international and regional championships.

Will Aqaba's car racing track be used for Formula 1?

Saraya news agency reported that, unfortunately, the circuit will not be dedicated to Formula 1 (which requires FIA Grade 1 classification), but it will be considered a milestone for Jordan in the world of motorsports.
