A training program for trainers in e-commerce business was convened with the graduation of 32 qualified trainers in a ceremony at the Amman Chamber of Industry (ACI) on Thursday, January 18.
The three-week program was organized by the Euro-Jordanian Business Service Team (EJBST), an EU-funded private sector project to develop the business sector, in collaboration with the ACI.
“The training program aimed at creating a core of trainers in the e-commerce sector to train businesspeople and employees in corporations in both the private and public sectors who have dealings in e-commerce,” said Ziad Masri, business councillor for the EJBST.
He added that the 32 trainers finishing this program, who were chosen for their experience in the different business sectors in Jordan, are required to train 5,400 people in e-commerce establishments all over Jordan.
He also said that the course program was divided into three segments: e-commerce implementation, e-commerce security and e-commerce safety. He added that at the end of the course a pilot case was given where the trainees had to use what they learned in training others.
European e-commerce specialists delivered the program.
“I think these people gained a lot of knowledge in a short period of time,” Nicolai Porsbo, one of the experts told the Jordan Times. He added that the pilot case was a great success, which insured the success of the course.
“E-commerce would help Jordan break from its geographical limitations in trade and create a wider base for markets regionally and eventually globally,” said Porsbo. — ( Jordan Times )
