Jordan's Senate Approves Income Tax Law

The Senate's Committee on Finance and Economy, headed by Senator Umayya Toukan on Sunday approved the 2018 amended tax income draft law after it was returned by the Lower House of Parliament returned, and recommended to the Senate to endorse the bill.

The committee passed the bill after taking into consideration that the lower house approved the Senate's amendments to Item 1 of Paragraph B and Paragraphs D and H of Item 8 which amended Item 11 of the original law.

After deliberation on these articles which the lower chamber of parliament insisted on keeping, the committee came up with the following:

- Approving lower chamber of parliament's previous decision on Item 8 of Article 4 which amended Article 4 of the original law, and Paragraphs D and H of Item 8 which amended Item 11 of the original law.
- Approving lower chamber of parliament's previous decision on Paragraph F of Item 8 which amended Item 11 of the original law, and Item 11 which amended Paragraph B of Article 18 of the original law.
