The Amman-based Specialized Technical Services Group (STS), a leading Middle Eastern hardware, software services and solutions provider, announced Wednesday that it has been named as an IBM Premier Software Partner for the region as a result of its extensive support of IBM’s WebSphere portal offerings. The announcement marks the first time a local company in the Middle East to attain the highest certification within IBM’s software solution offerings on the WebSphere middleware solutions.

“We are delighted to be IBM Premier Software Partners in the region; it is a prestigious certification that recognizes the outstanding customer service and technology expertise we provide through our e-Business software division, BusinessONE,” said Ramzi Zeine, Chairman of STS, “Strong channel support programs such as these, along with IBM’s powerful portal middleware technology will help us expand our reach in the market and provide a better service to our customers.”

STS BusinessONE has deployed Websphere in its break-through secure e-payment solution, ‘PayONE’, that enables debit and credit card as well as bank-account holders to make online payments for e-commerce and e-government transactions safely in real-time. PayOne has since been implemented in the national payment gateways of Qatar Central Bank (QCB) and Visa Jordan Card Services (VJCS).

“STS has shown a great deal of commitment in adopting a business strategy that focuses on promoting their end-to-end solutions that run on IBM WebSphere portal technologies to small and large organizations alike," said Bashar Kilani, manager of IBM Software Group, Middle East, Egypt and Pakistan. "We are very please to have them on board as a Premier Software Partner, and look forward to working closely with them to ensure that they benefit from the education and marketing support the accreditation provides.” (menareport.com)
