Juniper Networks, Inc. has announced that Jordan Telecom (the leading Jordanian telecommunications provider) had deployed the Juniper Networks Integrated Security Gateway (ISG) series firewall and virtual private network (FW/VPN) systems and Juniper Networks Intrusion Detection and Prevention (IDP) platforms to protect its corporate network infrastructure against worms, trojans, spyware and other emerging threats, as well as application layer threats.

"Jordan Telecom selected the Juniper firewall/VPN and IDP solutions because of their proven reliability, high level of granular security policy customization and excellent technical support," said Rula Ammuri, Jordan Telecom chief information officer. "Juniper’s security offerings not only offer high performance firewall defense, but also an effective, automated way to protect essential network resources behind the firewall layer."

“Organizations of all sizes have to ensure their network is properly protected from a wide range of threats by adding layers of best-in-class security functionality that can operate at high speeds at appropriate points in the network,” said Mohamad Abdul-Malak, Juniper Networks regional director – EMEA. “Jordan Telecom is providing an excellent example to its customers with this deployment.”

"Jordan Telecom’s deployment of Juniper Networks security solution is a perfect match of traditional practices being executed with cutting-edge technology," said Mus'ab Mheidat, general manager, Networking Solutions & Services (NSS) – a Juniper Networks Partner in Jordan. "The Juniper Networks ISG series and IDP products exemplify Juniper's entire portfolio of enterprise security solutions, which are able to protect networks, large and small, within Jordan’s continued economic and technological development."

Delivering on the Enterprise Infranet framework, the Juniper Networks ISG platforms can be operated as a single firewall/VPN service or with IDP as an elective add-on to provide enterprise customers with increased levels of delivery and threat control. Medium to large enterprises, as well as carriers and data centers utilize the integrated security gateway platform and IDP to protect its networks against emerging threats and application layer threats.  Used in combination, the ISG and IDP appliances provide strong access control, secure communications, and network and application-level security while lowering the total cost of ownership for deploying best-in-class firewall, VPN and intrusion prevention services.

The Juniper Networks Intrusion Detection and Prevention platforms provide comprehensive and easy to use protection against current and emerging threats at both the network and the application layer. Using industry-recognized stateful detection and prevention techniques, the Juniper Networks IDP provides zero-day protection against worms, Trojans, spyware, keyloggers and other malware. To date Juniper Networks is the only vendor able to offer daily signature updates for IDP customers, critical in maintaining effective threat coverage and attack response. The Juniper Networks IDP can be quickly and confidently deployed inline to effectively identify and stop network- and application-level attacks before they inflict any damage, minimizing the time and costs associated with intrusions.
