ALBAWABA – Kamala Harris, Vice President of the United States and 2024 presidential candidate is delivering an economic speech today in North Carolina state in response to the latest remarks done last Wednesday by Donald Trump, former US president and 2024 presidential candidate.

Harris to propose new restrictions

Harris is expected to set new rules and restrictions to address the rising prices of groceries and housing. Harris aims to draw plans to lower housing costs and includes $25,000 in down payment assistance for first-time homebuyers.

"In her first 100 days, Vice President Harris will work to enact a plan to bring down Americans' grocery costs and keep inflation in check," as reported by her campaign on Wednesday.

Harris plans to ensure "big corporations can’t unfairly exploit consumers to run up excessive corporate profits," her campaign said, and will specifically call out the "highly consolidated" meat processing industry. "The lack of competition gives these middlemen the power to drive down earnings for farmers while driving up prices for consumers."

Harris and Trump supporters

Critics say Harris’s new rules are controversial and argue that the restrictions she plans to propose will not be effective.

This gives Trump the opportunity to throw many arguments against Harris, especially as he declared earlier his intention to increase the production of gas and oil in the US to combat rising prices and inflation.
