Khorafi Business Machines (KBM), sole distributor for IBM Products and services in Kuwait, implemented a complete enterprise storage and server management solution for Kuwait Oil Company (KOC) last year.
The solution included the installation of hardware, customization of software and the provision of several training programs. As Gulf Business Machine's (GBM) largest Tivoli project in the Gulf, the solution has enabled KOC to meet its current and future storage and server management requirements, while ensuring that the solution adapts to meet its security and e-business requirements of the future.
The phased implementation of the initial project took place over a three-month period according to the project plan specified by KOC and the architecture following approval from KOX. The installation, which was actually completed ahead of schedule, was followed by a one-month test period, which demonstrated that everything was working to specification.
KOC is the sole oil producing company in Kuwait, responsible for the exploration, drilling and production of oil and gas in the Emirate. It is also involved in the storage of crude oil and delivery to tankers for export. In the Neutral Zone, located between the State of Kuwait and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, KOC is represented by Wafra Joint Operations Group.
The mission of the company is to explore, develop and produce hydrocarbon resources in the country and the Divided Zone, in accordance with government policy, good reservoir management practice, and by using the most efficient and economic means available. — (menareport.com)
