Algeria’s Khalifa Airways has signed a five-year agreement with Boeing Aircraft Trading to lease two 777-200 jetliners. The Khalifa 777’s will be powered by GE90 engines and are scheduled for delivery in November and December 2002.
Khalifa Airways will be applying its new 777-200s in connecting Algeria to various African, European and transatlantic destinations. The Khalifa 777 is equipped with 240 seats -- 22 in first class, 70 in business class and the remainder in economy class .
Khalifa Airways, which was created in 1999, operates aircraft from Airbus Industries, Boeing aircraft and four ATRs. Khahlifa Airlines and Antinea Airlines were two of four carriers to be created in Algeria after air transport was opened to the private sector. — (menareport.com)
