The Kuwait National Petroleum Corporation (KNPC) has reopened its fluid catalytic cracking (FCC) unit number-86 at the Mina Al-Ahmadi Refinery. The unit was dismantled last week after a small fire erupted in a control valve, reported Dow Jones .
According to a KNPC release, the fire was a minor incident and was put out within minutes. The accident had no bearing on the unit’s petroleum exports. The FCC unit produces 40,000 barrels per day of gasoline component and propylene feedstock for local consumption.
KNCP is the ninth largest oil company in the world with an estimated 190 years of crude oil reserves. Founded in 1980, the state-owned firm offers a portfolio of upstream and downstream services. — (menareport.com)
