The Kuwaiti-based Burgan Bank, providing regional e-banking services, announced its sponsorship to the first M-Commerce Conference & Expo in the Middle East that will be held in partnership with global software giant Microsoft, on March 30-31 at Le Meridien Kuwait Hotel.

Samy Al-Aly, general manager of E-Banking Services Group at Burgan Bank, announced that the bank's participation in the conference stems from its importance as a technological event that has a direct relation with e-banking services offered by Burgan Bank.

During the conference, Burgan Bank speakers will highlight the bank's vision regarding the future of e-business and m-commerce locally, regionally and internationally. “The next few months will witness new e-banking services for Burgan's customers,” Al-Aly remarked .

Burgan Bank was the first Kuwaiti bank to offer the loans service and customers accounts service via the Internet, in addition to the payment gateway service that enables the bank's customers to pay for their shopping on the Internet via the ATM Cards and the handling of e-banking transactions for free.

Al Aly stated also that Burgan bank is always considering the coming foreign competition by international banks when they work inside Kuwait “we will be ready for that so that no bank can affect our share in the market.”

Now, sponsors of the M-Commerce Kuwait 2002 conference include Microsoft as a major partner, Compaq mobile solutions provider, Burgan Bank in addition to Siemens and MTC. — (menareport.com)
