Kuwait Airways (KAC) carried close to 750,000 passengers from June to August onboard its scheduled and additional flights, marking a four percent increase in the number of passengers as compared to the end of summer 2002.
According to KAC’s Director of Public Relations and Information Adel Mohammad Boresly, the increase is a result of marketing policies implemented by KAC and the development of services in various sectors as a result of direct interaction with the passengers. This strategy has reflected positively in the airline’s passenger strength this summer compared to last year.
KAC was founded privately in 1954, but over a period of time was bought out entirely by the Kuwaiti government. The airline’s operations were halted during the Iraqi invasion in 1990 when its premises and 15 of its aircraft were destroyed. Following liberation in 1991, the airline was re-launched and built its fleet to include three Airbus A320-200s, three Airbus A310-300s, five Airbus A300-605Rs, four Airbus A340-300s and two Boeing B777s. — (menareport.com)
