The Public Services Committee approved on March 19 the bid to increase the allowed height and floors number in commercial buildings inside Kuwait city. According to the latest decision, it allowed to construct 100 floor buildings on plots, which their area is larger than 9,000 square meters, in condition that the
commercial percentage will stay as they were before, reported the Kuwaiti newspaper, Al-Qabas.
The approved decision stipulated that:
- The maximum height for a building is 160 meter, with 40 floors, beginning from the ground floor, for land plots, which their area is 3,000 square meters and down.
- The maximum height for a building is 240 meters, with 60 floors, beginning with the ground floor, for land plots, which their area ranged between more than 3,000 square meters to 6,000 square meters.
- The maximum height for a building is 280 meter, with 80 floors, beginning with the ground floor, for land plots, which their area ranged between more than 6,000 square meters to 9,000 square meters.
- The maximum height for a building is 400 meter, with 100 floors, beginning with the ground floor, for land plots, which their area is larger than 9,000 square meters.
- This decision does not apply to all regions, which special decisions are issued regarding them.
