Kuwait to post another year of record income

Kuwait is expected to post another year of record income after a sharp increase in revenue in the first five months of the current fiscal year. Quoting
official finance ministry figures, Al-Shall Economic Consultants said that by the end of August, the fifth month of the 2006-07 fiscal year, Kuwait had earned KWD 7 bn (USD 24.2bn) on the back of high oil prices. This figure is 31% on the USD 18.4 bn earned in the same period during the last fiscal year and as much as 82% of the revenue projected for the entire fiscal year.

 

Meanwhile, government expenditure came in at USD 8 bn for the period under review, and compares with USD 6.1 bn for the period Apr.- Aug. 2005.
