Land Rover recorded a 28 percent sales increase in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) during the first quarter of 2003 compared to the same period last year. In 2002, Land Rover sales in the UAE grew by 29 percent.
Land Rover is a manufacturer of family off-road cars. Its Middle East and African retailers import and distribute vehicles manufactured at the company’s plant in Slihull, England. Land Rover has two exclusive importers in the UAE, Al-Otaiba Group, based in Abu Dhabi, and Dubai-based Al-Tayer Motors.
Land Rover recently has signed a $100 million investment agreement with Jordan’s Ole Automative Trading Company to establish a manufacturing plant in the Kingdom. The factory will be a Completely Knocked Down (CKD) site located in the southern town of Maan. — (menareport.com)
