Tenants could be soon evicted from a landmark building in Manama, which authorities claim is dangerous and should be destroyed. According to the GDN, the Manama Municipality is now seeking a court order to demolish the Kuwaiti Building on the grounds that it poses a serious health risk, municipality director-general Abdulkarim Hassan told the newspaper.

He revealed the municipality had already filed a case in the Urgent Matters Court asking for permission to pull the building down.

The twin-tower, 11-storey complex harbors flats on eight floors and shops or offices on the first three levels.
