Retail systems specialist Landsteinar plans to launch new regional headquarters in Dubai, as part of its strategy to become the primary supplier of business software to the Middle East's rapidly growing shopping sector.
The new office will provide ongoing customer support for existing Middle East clients – which include Spinneys Supermarkets, Bahrain Duty Free and Beirut Duty Free – and generate new business across the region.
Retail has emerged as one of the key areas of opportunity for business solutions companies. According to IDC's recent study on the ERP market in the Middle East, Arab Middle East and North Africa Software Solutions Forecast and Analysis, 2002-2007, the retail sector last year accounted for 5.5 percent of overall ERP spending in the Middle East and North Africa.
Investments by retail companies are expected to grow at an above average compound annual growth rate of 14.7 percent through 2007. Not surprisingly, the largest market for retail spending is the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
Alpha Landsteinar specializes in the implementation and application of business management software, primarily the Microsoft Business Solution, formerly Navision, suite of business management applications. Through Alpha Landsteinar and the company's international network of consultants, the company services over 134 clients worldwide from seven offices. — (menareport.com)
