A senior industry expert has recently revealed that late delivery of property developments in Dubai were caused, primarily, by the emirate's tight construction industry as huge demand for such services continue while the region's real estate sector booms.  "There is simply too much demand for contractors and the industry has been unable to cope," explained Peter Riddoch, CEO of Dubai-based Damac properties, according to Khaleej Times.

Riddoch noted that construction firms in the region must contend with the high speed at which visas are issued, while tender documents often take up to nearly one month to be prepared.
