Egyptian-based corporation Max Marine S.A.E., a leading service provider for Egyptian Oil and Gas Projects, will continue its international expansion with the establishment of its first base of operations in the UAE at the Ras Al Khaimah Free Trade Zone (RAK FTZ), an action that follows closely on the heels of the launch of its first office in the eastern United States.
“We have been studying this move for a long while,” shares Abdulaziz Ibrahim Abdulaziz and Altabay Ibrahim Abdulaziz, Max Marine S.A.E. founders. “It is very timely, as we have just launched another special office in the US. Coming from the Middle East ourselves, it is very important for us to establish a solid base of operation in the Gulf, and we have determined that RAK FTZ is the best choice. Its strategic location will be beneficial for both us and our clients.”
RAK FTZ Industrial Park is conveniently located next to RAK’s Saqr Port (Mina Saqr). Recently named ‘Best Emerging Free Trade Zone' for the third consecutive year by the Middle East Logistics Awards, and 'Industrial Free Trade Zone of the Year' by the Supply Chain and Transport Awards, the Free Zone is continuously developing its product and service offerings to meet clients’ needs.
“We are very excited that a group of Max Marine's calibre is joining our fold,” comments Oussama El Omari, RAK FTZ CEO. “We especially welcome diversity among the products and services provided by our clients, and Max Marine Group offers essential services that are certain to enhance the local oil and gas industry. They have been operating for more than three decades and are experts in their field; they respond to and anticipate their clients’ needs, which has led to their success. We, at RAK FTZ, will do everything in our capacity to ensure that their transition into the region is a smooth one, by providing them with any further support that they may require.”
Created in 1972, with the initial goal of supplying food and beverages to petroleum services vessels, Max Marine Group has quickly grown to become a major player in the international oil industry, providing necessary products and services to complement the various needs of their clients. In 1997, the group further strengthened its market share with the establishment of the Max Marine divisions: Max Gulf For Shipping Agencies Oil Services, Max Marine For Shipping Agencies Oil Services (S.A.E.), Max Marine Free Zone (Amreay – Alexandria), Max Era Tours, Max For Constructions & Real Estate, and Max For Trade & Markets.
Over the years, the group has continuously upgraded its products and services to include technical and operational resources as well as complete service management solutions. By offering extensive services that include everything from equipment rental, charting, and project management to customs assistance and port agency services in addition to maintenance and administrative and logistical support, it ensures that its high-end international clientele – which include Tide Water, Transocean, Fugro, Stolt Offshore, ETD offshore, Rovde, Rashpetco, Grant Geophysical and BP Max Marine Group – are able go about their business unhindered.
Commenting on Max Marine’s experience with RAK FTZ thus far, Hisham El Meligy, a popular Egyptian actor who also stands as the Public Relations manager for Max Marine Group FZC, shares “The set-up of the company was entirely hassle-free. We dealt with some very smart and helpful people who made it all easy for us. “It was an honour to meet generous and kind people who know what they are doing, such as RAK FTZ’s CEO, Mr Oussama El Omari, and Director of Sales, Ms Hala Ali. In my opinion, Max Marine Group and Ras Al Khaimah Free Trade Zone will have a very bright future.”
