Korean Digital manufacturer LG Electronics has appointed its first President for its LG Electronics Gulf FZE (LGEGF) operation. Moving into the post is P.C. Choi, who is promoted from managing director LGEGF. Choi now has responsibility for the LGE’s operations in all Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states with the exception of Saudi Arabia.

“This move follows a reorganization within our Middle East and Africa Operations which sees Kuwait coming under the jurisdiction of LGEGF for the first time. It was previously handled out of Amman,” said M. B. Shin, president of LG Electronics Middle East and Africa Operations.

“The LGEGF operation has grown significantly since it was established in 1998 with more product ranges and people and this new position reflects its development.” LG says it plans to launch new products into Kuwait, including its growing range of GSM (Global System for Mobile Communication) mobile phones.

“I take up this position when Kuwait and the region in general are facing challenging times,” said Choi. “However, LG is firmly committed to the Gulf and believes in continuing with its investment strategy in terms of training, after-sales service initiatives, facilities and product ranges. We believe that solid commitment will bring dividends in the longer term.” — (menareport.com)
