LG Electronics has launched its first portable combo-drive into the United Arab Emirates (UAE) as the global and regional digital leader seeks to consolidate its market leading position in the country's optical storage segment.
Designed for laptops, the new GCC-524OP portable combo-drive, which boasts CD-rewrite as one of its features, measures just 160 x 135 x 20 millimeters and operates at speeds of 24xCD-R write, 10xCD-RW write, 24xCD read and 8xDVD read.
LG currently leads the optical storage sector in the Middle East and Africa with sales in the first half of this year growing to 69 percent to deliver a turnover of $22 million. — (menareport.com)
